The art club at the cottage has been working with local artist Angie Seaway for the past year using a wide variety of materials and mediums.

This year they were invited to the Woohoo arts and comedy event at the Ocean in Exmouth. For the event they painted self-portraits and big glasses. While the art classes are primarily about enjoyment, Angie has observed that people have developed their artistic skills and abilities over the period, which is interesting as all the members of the arts group are living with dementia!

Residents from the Cottage and Lodge joined for an expedition to the Esplanade today.

At this week’s art club the theme was van Gogh..

One of our best investments ever is our Rosemobile. We use it pretty well every day to organise walking trips and bring people to our social club. And we never get enough of walking by the seaside whenever the weather is ok.

Clare has taken up gardening with a vengeance and she is roping in our residents. Inside when the weather is poor and outside when it’s good (not so much of that recently). I think soon we will be running out of pots and raised beds…
