When new residents join there’s an opportunity for new friendships and a bit of gossip on the terrace.

It’s only a short walk to the Devoncourt Hotel and today residents from the Lodge and the Cottage joined for a joint expedition to the Hotel, to enjoy the view and a change of scenery, a cup of tea tea and , most importantly the company of friends.

At the Lodge today. I love how the carer mirrors the posture of the resident.  It’s a powerful way to express your empathy and togetherness through body language. It comes quite naturally to many carers, others have to learn it.

Rosina was bemused by me wanting to take a picture of her today. She was really much more interested in the live music!

A long time ago I was persuaded to do a season of the Proms in the Albert Hall. I slept through all of them, except for the last night. Something about live music that just makes me nod off.

Joyce enjoys live music in much the same way as me…
