Rest in Peace Adrian
Adrian Hamer was taken by COVID on Boxing day. He was 55 years old.
Adrian first joined us about 5 years ago as a driver while recovering from a heart operation. After a stint as Marketing Director at the Ocean he re-joined as our manager for Finance, Technology and Marketing in 2018.
Adrian did not have ‘can’t do’ in his vocabulary and could always find a way to get things done. Live streaming of a Christmas Party over Facebook ? Done. A COVID-safe visitor hut delivered within a week ? Done. A petting zoo with raised beds for the chickens and ducks ? Done. A sugar-spinning event for a party ? Done. Radio ads ? Done. The list goes on and on
Adrian loved Rose Lodge and what we stand for, and we will miss him greatly.
He was one of us
He was family
To all at Rose Lodge, this is such sad sad news. Adrian was an exceptional person and excellent Santa Claus. He was always there to help with any query no matter how big or small. I am sure he will be greatly missed by residents and staff.
Our deepest sympathy to you all and Lisa,
Julie, Helen & Andrew.
This is such sad news for you all. Adrian was amazing. He was so so kind to Chris when he was a day visitor 3 and a half years ago.
What a loss to Rose Lodge. I’m so very sorry.
Carol
So sorry to hear this very sad news; sending love to all at the Rose Lodge & Cottage family xx.
Dear all at Rose Lodge,
I am simply devastated at this news. You all must be too. A key person on your team, suddenly gone missing, but also a lovely person.
I have appreciated him so much; his helpful, willing spirit. I first new him when he accompanied the skittles team! My husband & I used to sometimes join them all at the Social Club, when we were over from Switzerland.
I would very much like to see any obituary that appears, if that’s manageable.
John & I will pray that you find another administrator who is competent & caring.
With my love
Jane
May I on behalf of Diane Richards and all our family forward our sincere condolences to all of Adrian’s family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Adrian but his personality is clearly ingrained in the walls that Rose Lodge stands, there is no doubt he will be sadly missed.
May we thank all at Rose Lodge for their dedicated work and understanding, I can assure you it is very much appreciated by all.
What dreadfully sad news.
Adrian was so much a part of Rose Lodge, which isn’t always the case with staff who are not employed as carers. I am sure that everyone there misses him very much. His blog posts gave an insight into life at Rose Lodge which I appreciated when my mum was a resident.
My condolences to Adrian’s family, friends and colleagues.
Sincerely,
Janet Govey
Daughter of the late Lilian Brand.
