An afternoon of socially distanced acoustic music with Naomi followed by alfresco dining yesterday was a real success, with something for everyone to enjoy. We do like having this wonderful weather which allows us to make great use of our garden.

It can be so rewarding with a great sense of purpose when we are taking care of the garden, our chickens and the birds, they all bring so much to Rose Lodge, creating beautiful focal points in every corner, and a great place to relax with friends on the terrace.

Whether we are indoors or outdoors in the shade or in the sun, they both become the perfect place for games, relaxing with a magazine or paper, playing bingo and puzzle solving. As long as we are having fun and in great company then it’s the right combination.

Going for a walk whilst we have got some fine weather can really instil a positive state of mind and wellbeing, and we get to see some beautiful scenery, we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful part of the country right on our doorstep.

Even though it can be great fun making them, the best part about baking is getting to eat the lovely sweet treats afterwards
