Ah..Nice cup of tea

Irene and Harry went for a nice cup of tea across the road to the Devoncourt Hotel. Irene used to go there every day until a couple of years back, to work out in the gym and meet up with her friend who works there. She finds it hard to walk great distances but insisted that she walked herself rather than use a wheelchair – that’s the spirit! Her friend Allam helped her walk back to Rose Lodge – thank you Allam!

Goal ! (well actually none)

Never mind, Brian, Harry, Tom, Phil, Karen, and Sarah had a great time at the Exeter City vs Hartlepool match today.

A special thank you toAndy Gillard of Exeter City FC who arranged the tickets, seats and private parking. This was a special day, Karen said she had never seen Tom so happy (and cold :-) , and of course a big thank you to Sarah and Karen who volunteered their time.

The first of the summer wine ?

The Rose Lodge Ramblers were out in force today and the weather was fantastic. We’ve all got a little bit stiffer over the winter months so we resolved to get back into the habit of walking every week come rain or shine. We did get a few surprised looks as we walked down the esplanade making jokes and singing songs. Mischief is so exhilarating!

Not really that serious!

A great turn-out to the special ‘Singing for the brain’ Christmas event at Brixington Church today, with six residents joining in. It was a lovely sociable afternoon and not at all as serious as this picture would suggest!

Off to see the Christmas lights
