Mayor of Exmouth opens new gardens at Rose Lodge

our new pond cover, pergola, and dovecote

Phew we got the garden ready just in time for the grand opening party. The new bright blue pond cover was fitted on Monday, and our dovecote came on Tuesday. Seven of us did the finishing touches on Tuesday, ready for the party. The Mayor of Exmouth and pupils from the Beacon School officially opened the gardens and then we did what we do best – enjoy ourselves ! – Chanda entertained with some of the ‘old songs’ while we chatted and danced. We were very lucky with the weather – a perfect afternoon.

Harry couldn’t wait….

For the official opening of the new gardens, and watered the just-planted current bushes and strawberries.

Grand Garden Opening Party
at Rose Lodge
21 March 1pm to 3pm at 2 Isca Road Exmouth

We are celebrating the completion of our new
terraces and vegetable gardens with a grand opening party,
where the Mayor of Exmouth and pupils from the Beacon
School will open the new gardens. Rose Lodge is inviting
everyone in Exmouth to come and join the party and see the
new gardens which are designed for the residents to enjoy
as independently as possible.

Our Activities programme for Spring 2012

We have added Yoga to the programme a few weeks ago, which is going very well. Art isn’t on the programme as a specific activity, though several residents do practice their art at Rose Lodge. If anyone knows of an art teacher who would like to lead an art class once a week then please let us know.

Nice work Harry!

Harry has been taking care of the raised beds at the back of the house. After clearing a lot of the surface weeds and replanting with flowers, he is tackling a couple of substantial weedy shrubs. Sylvia was suitably impressed with his efforts.
