Our Activities programme for Spring 2012
We have added Yoga to the programme a few weeks ago, which is going very well. Art isn’t on the programme as a specific activity, though several residents do practice their art at Rose Lodge. If anyone knows of an art teacher who would like to lead an art class once a week then please let us know.

Barbeque!

It was a lovely day today. Chris did a great job of charring the burgers and sausages at a safe distance while residents relaxed on the terrace. Archie hid under the trolley. Later, Simon played the guitar, with Eileen having great fun conducting the music from her bedroom. A perfect summer’s afternoon! The fact that the beer was alcohol free did not seem to hinder things and it did mean Jo and Sarah could have a sip too.
Apple harvest
Renee and Ruth have been picking and collecting apples from our rather overgrown apple tree for a few weeks now. Most go into the fruit basket but this week there have just been so many that we decided to cook with them. Renee Eileen and Ruth sat down to peel, core, and slice the apples, and Chris used them for some very tasty apple strudel.
Our Mulberry tree is full of delicious mulberries but the tree is so tall we are not sure how to pick them. A little challenge for next year I think…
